In this one-time class students will listen to a story about the growth of a friendship while dealing with a schoolyard bully. They will practice literacy skills such as sight word recognition, comprehension and making connections.

Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
In this lesson the students will have an opportunity to practice their literacy and reading comprehension strategies before, during and after having a story read to them. They will make inferences and predictions about the text and extend on their understanding by connecting their previous knowledge and experiences to the text. They are also increasing their ability to make friends and keep friends. This activity is designed to support children’s knowledge about feelings and social relationships.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
