This interactive course will help students with creativity. What princess should never eat apples? Students will be given a clue related to a princess. Students will have fun recalling the movies and books to decide what princess goes with each clue. For letter A the clue is apple. I have clues from A to Z. After they have solved all of the clues the students will create an oral story. I will teach students four different parts of speech. We will discuss nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives. The class will then participate in an oral story telling. Students will be encouraged to make a sentence using different parts of speech. The class can use the alphabet clues to help their imaginations get started on each sentence. Story telling helps children develop language skills. It also builds confidence in young learners. Students are welcome to come as their favorite prince or princess. Come be a detective with me.
Learning Goals
Students will use memory, association, and social skills as they work with classmates to figure out the clues. Students will learn or review four parts of speech. They will learn noun, verb, adverb, and adjective. Students will be creative and confident as they learn to create and share a story together.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Amy Kent. I have been teaching children for nearly my entire life. I love helping children grow to love learning about the world! I am excited to teach classes to young learners to get them ready for school. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I love to read and look forward to hosting a book club for young learners.
I graduated from Southern Utah University. I earned a double major in elementary education and special education. I have a minor in child development. I have over 20 years experience. My first job was teaching Kindergarten. I incorporated reading, math, and science into my lessons. Not only did they learn their ABC's, but they were introduced to a variety of topics including gravity and space! My next experience was organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. I have worked with the children K-12 as a substitute teacher and online. I also volunteered at the local elementary school to help students improve their reading skills. I teach ESL online and I have my TESOL certificate. I have taught children cooking, sewing, and craft classes in our local 4-H program. I enjoy working with all age groups. I just love teaching!
I live in a small town. I have a great husband and five wonderful children. I love teaching, reading, children, crafts and exploring. I like to hike, swim and see new places with my family. I look forward to teaching your child in the classroom.
