Story Stars - Imaginative Acting and Playing
Class experience
In Ms. Julie and Pippa's classes, the focus is on keeping kids connected, engaged, learning and smiling. In Story Stars, we play to learn storytelling, acting, and early literacy skills. Feel free to jump into the class at any point in its run; we'll do something new each week, so your learner won't be behind if they didn't start at the beginning. We will engage in the following activities in every 30-minute class: - Sing good morning and check on our friends' feelings - Tell and act out...
Students will learn basic acting skills. Students will build empathy through becoming characters in stories. Students will be able to recount classic stories (and often new twists). Students will engage with literary topics such as character, plot, theme, moral, and more!
I am well into my third year of Outschool teaching. Before Outschool, I was a classroom teacher, and a literacy tutor and interventionist for five years. I have a BFA in English, and a MA in Education, along with a BFA and an MFA in acting. I also have two of my own kids (4 and 7) who love to hear, tell, and act out stories!
