Story, Spelling, and Vocabulary
In this ongoing course, students will read a short book, define vocabulary words, and spell vocabulary words. Words come alive as we use stories that students love to keep them engaged in the words that we are learning each week.

Spelling and vocabulary words come alive for students in this Story, Spelling, and Vocabulary class! We will start class by reading a short grade-level (ages 6-8) book on interesting topics together on screen share that includes our vocabulary words for the day. Students will guess and/or define our vocabulary words (approx. 6 words each week) with textual support and context as they come across them in the reading. Students will expand their vocabulary, use context clues to define words, and work on spelling.
I am a school librarian, reading coach, reading tutor, and ESL teacher. I love teaching children to read and love to see their immense excitement with their successes! I teach kindy-elementary school students from all around the world. I work with students at all levels, struggling to gifted.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
