Come and join this weekly m story time with a little craft for young children. Stories are curated to feature themes about nature and our natural world . An art craft project is followed afterwards that correlates to the story. Children will be exposed to early literacy skills through language development and by listening to the weekly stories, while developing their imaginations. Participating in this multi-day story time meet-up with others, engages the whole child, developing their cognitive and social and emotional development. Below are our daily story themes and simply craft listed. Story: You are Light Craft: Light Catcher Materials: Paper-plate, scissors, different colors of tissue paper, contact paper (or you can also use a lot of clear packing tape) Story: Whose Moon is that? Craft: Moon Materials: Moon Template (pdf), paper, oil pastels or crayons (optional glue stick and glitter/sequins) Story: Peep inside a garden Craft: Stick Puppets from story Materials: Pdf, construction paper, glue-stick, tape, markers or crayons or oil pastels, popsicle sticks or stick skewers Story: Why do we need bees? Craft: Beehives and or bee Materials: pdf, construction paper, crayons or oil pastels or markers, glue-stick, tape Story: Look Inside Nature Craft: Coloring nature scene from story Materials: pdf, crayons or oil pastels or markers, or colored pencils

I have a Master Degree in Early Childhood/Primary Education and a Bachelor Degree in Child Development, active in the field for several decades. I am also a National Geographic Certified Educator, and certified to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP). Also, I am TESOL certified, teaching English as a Second Language. I am the Founder of Connecting Children to Art in Nature; educational business that offer children and families services to connect to nature in artful and eco-friendly formats and perspectives. I create educational design and curriculum for youth and families for botanical gardens, children's schools, private and public settings, nature centers, as well as lecture in universities and colleges presenting professional development workshops for educators. My class offerings on Outschool are inspired by various pedagogies such as the Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf practices and place-based, best practices in environmental education. I offer traditional art studio courses, art appreciation, art & nature-based classes & programs, and environmental education.
