Students will participate in a read aloud. Students will be read a story with Ms. Victoria and her dog, Simon sitting near by. Each class will begin with students voting for which book they would like read aloud. Ms. Victoria will pause and ask questions about the text, characters, and beyond the text. These questions will prepare the students to move up in reading levels. Ms. Victoria has taught 2nd grade and works with students to improve their own reading levels individually, in small...
Students will participate in a read aloud, which will include practice thinking about texts that will promote their comprehension and understanding. As Ms. Victoria reads students will see fluency in practice and be able to read along as the text will be shared on the screen.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
