Each class will include a welcome song to great each student, followed by a movement warm-up. Our warm-ups will be in the style of the Brain Dance, as developed by Ann Green Gilbert. This series of developmental movement patterns help children wire their brain for learning. A new book will be introduced each week. Students will increase their early literacy skills by hearing, seeing, and acting out words. Students will learn self-regulation in their movement and develop the skill of choreographing their own short dances.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be sure your child has ample room to move and a safe surrounding area free of debris on the floor to move in. Bare feet are preferred to socks on slippery floors. Access to a water bottle is encouraged. Siblings welcome! While the instructor will provide developmental appropriate movement challenges, each family is responsible for the safety of their dancer.
