Class Experience

In order to grow as a writer, it is important to practice writing. This ongoing course meets once each week to give students the opportunity to practice writing stories and receive constructive feedback on their work.  Each week, I will teach a mini-lesson designed to give students tips that will help them improve their creative writing.  Afterwards, students will be given a writing prompt that includes a main character and a detail or theme.  They will be given twenty minutes to put their...

Students will be able to write short stories in a variety of genres.

There is no homework, but students may wish to continue working on their short stories outside of class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
