Class Experience

Using the Stop Motion Studio app on an iPhone or iPad, students will learn how to create stories for their stop motion animation videos. Students may use LEGOs, action figures, or any materials they may have at home. 

The Stop Motion Studio app MUST be downloaded prior to class. For approx $4.99 you may upgrade to Stop Motion Studio Pro for additional features. The pro version is STRONGLY suggested. Many of the features discussed in the class will only be available for those with the pro version. 

This class is taught using the app on an iPad and the teacher can demonstrate on an iPhone as well. The Android version looks a little different and the teacher can not demonstrate it for Android. The computer version is very different and not recommended for this class.

It is also recommended to use a stand for your device.

At the conclusion of this class, learners will have a completed professional-looking animation that includes:
- Voiceovers
- Title and Credits
- Sounds effects
- Theme music
- Other specialty frames

No background knowledge is required. No homework will be assigned, but learner progress will be evaluated based on their stop motion video.

My name is Seth Guttenplan and I have been teaching since 2009. I have been teaching on Outschool since 2017.

I hold New Jersey Standard Certificates in the following:
