Class Experience

The stock market is so fun!! Let's learn about it 😁  You will learn to buy securities (stocks/etfs/index funds on investopedia.com's stock simulator.

No experience is necessary: just a positive attitude & a willingness to learn.

---- Class 1 - What is a Security?
We'll answer the question: What is a stock? 
We'll also talk about Index Funds & ETFs. 
Homework: Make a list of stocks/companies/industries you like/support + buy with half of your money

----- Class 2 - Psychology behind Stock Picking/Read the Charts.
Learn the basics about reading charts, highs/lows.  We'll learn to look at the different prices based off of month/year/day/etc etc
Homework: Draw a 1 year/5 year/max chart of a stock you bought

----- Class 3 - Stock Market Lingo 
A mix of classic and modern phrases
Homework: Draw a cartoon with your favorite vocab word (or make up your own)

----- Class 4 - When to Sell/ Buy? 💰
Is there a good time to buy stocks?  We'll learn about common mistakes that people make in the stock market - and learn cool tricks for investing intelligently.
Homework: Pick a company or two in your portfolio & identify a few times in their past that would have been great to buy/sell

----- Class 5 - News and the World? 🤷🏽‍♀️
Have you taken the time to look into the people in charge of your company?  Learn to research your companies and feel more confident with your investments and their industry. 
Homework: Find two conflicting articles about a stock that you like. What did you notice in each article?

----- Class 6 - Final Class/Reflection
In this final class, students will talk about how their stock market experience went.  What were the highs and the lows? 
Homework: Enroll in "Stocks Rock" Weekly!



The difficulty of each class will vary.  Some topics are easier than others, however, we'll ask more challenging questions if the class seems to be at a level where they can handle the challenge.  And vice versa, if the class is at a lower level, the difficulty will be modified.

Overall, the goal is that you leave this class with a great understanding and new perspective on your choices with money and the way it works in our world.
