In this course, students will be introduced to the stock market as they invest $100,000 in a simulated stock market game.

Class Experience

In this course, students will be introduced to the stock market. The focus of the class will be on trading stocks. I will be encouraging students to participate in a class discussion, so students will have the freedom to contribute throughout class and ask questions. 

Every class will also consist of a game (Kahoot!, Virtual Jeopardy, etc.) to help ensure understanding of the material covered. Students will be given a username and password. Our simulated stock game will be played on 'The...

Students will learn how to research and make good educated choices when investing. A simulation of the stock market provides an opportunity for each student to take risks and watch what happens without having to spend actual money. They will be able to carry what they learn in this class and apply it to their life one day without being afraid.

Students will be encouraged to make trades throughout the week and check on their portfolio frequently.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
