In this Still Life drawing class students will learn how to compose realistic and well proportioned images of objects and backgrounds in relation to the space they are in.
Class experience
In this class students will learn how to draw and compose a still life setting. The class will begin with an introduction of myself and fellow students and inquire the artistic goals of each student. We will draw objects using highlight, mid-tone, core shadow, reflected light, proportion, and various other techniques. It is not guaranteed that students will complete the still life since every artist works at their own pace but they will have the ability to complete the image beyond the...
Students will develop their drawing skills pertaining to texture and lighting. They will have a better understanding of value, shapes, and composing finished ideas.
Charcoal or graphite pencils, blending tool(Q-tip, blending stub, napkin, paint brush), sketch paper, kneaded eraser or plain eraser, ruler. A printed or digital copy of the still image we will drawing ( I will attach the image to the class discussion page)
