Steven Universe Fans! Let's have a virtual 'Together Breakfast,' and explore the universe. Fan Club 2.0 is a revamped version of the ongoing fan club with a bit more structure and a finite timespan. Recurring enrollments in the Fan Club sessions are absolutely welcome and encouraged!

In this 10 week class, we'll start a journal with character outlines, cosplay, crafts, food & recipes, and recurring themes. We will also explore issues like what makes a hero or villain and examine some of Steven's choices. We will dive into the world of Steven Universe fan art, fan fiction, S.U. Future, AND developing new characters & Gems. Even more than the plot and Gems, we will talk about how we relate to Steven in his struggles.

An added bonus? We get to socialize in a safe environment and make new friends. Costumes, props, your art and fanfiction are always welcome. We will also watch memes and video compilations each week too! WARNING: If you haven't watched the series, the movie, and Future, there might be spoilers.

FOR THE PARENTS: Steven Universe is a coming of age story that follows the main character, Steven, as he navigates his early & awkward teens. He has a mortal dad, a magical mom, and a crew of Gems to help him navigate life and find his power. The themes of the series include love, family, and the importance of healthy interpersonal relationships. My own children LOVE this series and may be joining in the fan club from time to time. The price per class breakdown is approx. $6 per class. The refund policy is flexible.

I've spent a lifetime leading groups, mentoring, and teaching. From the co-op and scouts, to the community garden and the local non-profit, to the college classroom as an instructor and as a preceptor, and the public school classroom; I've taught biology, horticulture, gardening and soil science, woodworking, food science, cooking, health, social studies, geography, history, civics, political science, and economics. I have developed programs, series, curriculum, and lesson plans, and I love every minute of teaching.

I have a BA in Political Science & Economics, with an emphasis in political theory, international political economics, and SE Asia. I also hold a Masters in Education, Teaching Project Based Learning, and a Masters in Special Education.

I have a firm belief in mentoring children and allowing them the room to explore and discover the answers. As I guide students through an experience or experiment, I love to watch their excitement grow and knowledge flourish. I will always love the natural world & food; such as vermiculture, mycology, soil science, food history, plant anatomy & physiology, edible science, bacteria and fermentation, and horticulture, but I my knowledge and background is deep and wide.

I will offer tutoring and small workshop series for struggling readers & writers. I will teach civics & government, including the foundations of government, political theory, and government power structures. I will teach creative writing and literature, and bring on the fun with clubs and activities. I take a interdisciplinary, project based learning approach to include math, science, history, language arts, and art.
