Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
This is a fun way to start to introduce some simple drama skills and key concepts like building confidence and self-esteem, introducing gross and fine motor skills, exploring emotions, pretending, using their imagination, and dropping in key elements along the way.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence building  workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16.

As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties,  nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos and have a regular podcast.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.

Currently I present weekly in person music, movement and sensory classes for under 5s and their parents as well.

As a Mum of young kids myself I am used to entertaining this age group, and in fact, that is how the 'Story Fairy' was born!
Learners will be set a weekly task to complete and upload, a Scavenger Hunt class challenge which is different each day and be invited to carry on the theme of the story with more optional creative activities.
Each week learners can opt to download the coloring/colouring in sheet for a scene in the story, the craft worksheet, and/or a storyboard sheet to help with the creative writing task.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Even though this class is all delivered via pre-recorded video, the video is an active class, so please make sure your learner is dressed so they can move around comfortably (even if that is in their chosen costume for the day), make sure they also have adequate space where they won't bump into anything, and a drink near-by in case they need it.
All Fairy Tales have been adapted to be age-appropriate and often learners will be asked to become characters or meet a non-intimidating puppet.
