Each class, I will walk my students through step by step instructions on how to paint a tree in blossom, with a silhouette of an owl watching a sunset.
Class experience
This is a step by step acrylic painting class. Each learner will all start with a blank canvas and by the end of class each student will walk away with a fully completed painting! At the start of class I will make sure that everyone has all the supplies they need, including the different brushes that we will use during each step and the different paint colors they will need as well. I also help students mix colors to get the shades they need if they do not already have the color pre-made....
It’s my hope that after each class my students will gain more confidence in their painting abilities, as well as, self expression, creative thinking, and color theory.
I have taken many online, and in-classroom drawing, painting, and art history/theory classes. I have 7 younger siblings, and also have a lot of nanny experience. The kids I care for, my siblings included, have all enjoyed, and benefited from my knowledge of drawing, painting, and art. Having been around children my entire life, and through out all of my previous teaching experience, I have the acquired the patience and positive demeanor necessary to teach young students art, step by step, with a smile. It is a good way for kids to hone in on their artistic and creative potential, while defining their individual aesthetic.
Canvas or painting pad (14in x 11in is recommended). Acrylic Paint brush set. Cotton Swabs. A bowl or plate to use as a circle stencil. Acrylic paint (White, Black, Red, Yellow, Orange, and Purple). Apron (Optional but recommended) Water cup for changing colors.
