In this step by step acrylic painting class, each learner will walk away with a fully completed painting! All of my students will all start with a blank canvas and by the end of class will have learned how to paint their own bubbles. At the start of class I will make sure that everyone has all the supplies they need, including the different brushes that we will use during each step and the different paint colors they will need as well. It is a very fun and low key learning environment where...
It’s my hope that after each class my students will gain more confidence in their painting abilities, as well as, self expression, creative thinking, and color theory.
I have taken many online, and in-classroom drawing, painting, and art history/theory classes. I have 7 younger siblings, and also have a lot of nanny experience. The kids I care for, my siblings included, have all enjoyed, and benefited from my knowledge of drawing, painting, and art. Having been around children my entire life, and through out all of my previous teaching experience, I have the acquired the patience and positive demeanor necessary to teach young students art, step by step, with a smile. It is a good way for kids to hone in on their artistic and creative potential, while defining their individual aesthetic.
One Black Canvas (11in x 14in is recommended, I purchased mine from Michael's, Black Construction Paper will work as well.) Small, Medium, and Large circle Stencils (I have also had students use different sized bowls and cups for their circles.) Apron (Optional but recommended.) Pastel Paint Pens - White, Purple, Blue, and Yellow (I use Craft Smart Paint Pen Sets from Michael's. I can send links for any materials needed for class) PLEASE NOTE: If you would rather uses paints and a brush set, that is just fine however you will also need a pencil for when we first apply our circles to the canvas. I also like to mention that the paint pens are easier to work with when using a stencil and are much faster as well!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
When teaching painting classes to a younger age group, I do always recommend that a parent or guardian is near by to supervise. This can help ensure that no paints are spilled or messes are made. However this is not necessarily mandatory, just a suggestion to help prevent messes!
Lets spread the knowledge and spread the smiles!
