Through slideshows, videos, and class discussion students will learn all about tornados, from what they are, to how they are formed, and safety tips. Learners will then have the opportunity to do some hands-on learning and create their very own Tornado in a jar with simple household ingredients. We will also discuss science safety and complete a short, interactive group quiz, through class discussion and slideshow to gauge the learners' understanding of science safety prior to starting our...

Students will learn and build upon their knowledge of STEAM concepts
- Jar or Bottle (with Lid) - Dish Soap - Water -Vinegar - Measuring Spoons - Food Colouring (optional) - Glitter (Optional) - Funnel (Optional)
We will have a short interactive quiz to gauge the learner's understanding of science safety prior to starting any experiments.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be creating tornados in a jar using household materials. Parents/Guardians may want to be around to supervise or assist as needed. Please remember that only the enrolled learner may be on camera per Outschool's safety policy.
