US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is designed for students to learn middle school biology and all its components. This class is formulated according to the Next Generation Science Standards, in line with a full middle school biology curriculum. Consisting of grades 6-8. This class meets once a week, for 30 weeks, for a time of one hour. Students will learn about cellular biology, molecular biology, genetics, photosynthesis and more. Students will receive homework and assessments, which will be graded according to the letter grading scale. At the conclusion of the class, students will receive a letter grade, needing a grade of D to pass. This class is designed to be interactive, fun and spark a young learner's imagination. Students will also participate in frequent experiments, bringing a hands-on learning approach to the material.

The Science of Biology
In this lesson students will learn about interactions among living things with their environment, as well as a systematic way of gathering data. Students will learn about labs and lab safety. Students will participate in the (Does color affect taste) experiment. This experiment will help the students to learn how to conduct and experiment in the lab and how to write a thesis.

Lesson 2:
Cell Structure and Function
In this lesson students will learn about the discovery of cells, the anatomy of cells and their structure. Students will also learn about microscopes and how to utilize them in Biology.

Lesson 3:
Cell Structure
In this lesson students will learn in depth about the structure of a cell. The Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cell structure and the purposes served by these cells. We will also learn about cellular transport and how the cells move throughout the body.

Lesson 4:
Cell Experiment
In this lesson, students will make their own cell. This experiment will help students to identify the parts of the cell and review what was previously learned.

Students will participate in a number of experiments. Some of these experiments may use materials that may need parental supervision. Students will also be watching videos with teacher guidance on YouTube or teacher created. These materials will be within the guidelines and will not contain inappropriate material.

I have an Associate Degree in Arts from Hopkinsville Community College and am currently attending the University of Western Kentucky to obtain my bachelor's degree in health sciences. I own an art gallery and have been an artist for over 20 years. I have worked with kids for a great deal of my life. Awarded most outstanding camp counselor at Oakland City camp best friends in Atlanta, Georgia. I have written and published many children's books as well. I have also participated in numerous science shows and competitions at Georgia Tech University and have a minor in Biology/Pre-Med.
