This STEM activity has a specific purpose as students use the binary alphabet code to make hearts out of colors and patterns. Great introduction into coding as well as making a gift, or Valentine's fun. The students use their creativity and put their reasoning skills to practice. Students through trial and error will allow their potential to unfold. Students scientific reasoning will be amazing, mindset will shift, problems will be solved, and thinking will be dynamic. Students will receive feedback and encouragement during the class. *Slides will be shared during the lesson introducing the binary code.
Learning Goals
Great experimental class! This is a wonderful, hands-on craft encouraging the use of patterns, art, and STEM! This project also incorporates fine motor skills and discussion.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school-math, reading and experimental science, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
