Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will identify problems.
Students will brainstorm solutions for problems.
Students will create inventive solutions.
Students will test their inventions.
Students will use trial and error.
Students will improve their inventions.
Students will share their inventions with others.
Students will use the STEM Engineering Process.
I am a certified PK-3 teacher with experience teaching STEM in the classroom. I highly enjoy completing hands-on activities with learners and encouraging them to be innovative, inventive, and creative.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal observational assessment
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
We will be completing various projects and activities that require students to use scissors, tape, glue, and other materials. Parents should be nearby to assist learners with these materials, especially when safety is a concern (i.e. hot water, scissors, etc.). Per Outschool policy, only the enrolled learner may be on screen for the class. Siblings, friends, and other unenrolled children may NOT be on screen during class. Parents also should be off camera at all times.


Food Allergy Warning:
We will use Play-Doh in this class at times. Play-Doh may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease.

* Canva and Google Slides - I use Canva and Slides to display content and material to students. They will not click any links or use the program on their own. 
* Kahoot - Learners have the opportunity to interact on Kahoot in games and activities. The link will be provided in the classroom. Learners are able to click the link and play the Kahoot game. They do not need an account, but the site will ask them to write a name.
