STEM engages students and equips them with critical thinking, problem solving, creative and collaborative skills. The focus on hands-on learning with real-world applications helps develop a variety of skill sets. Students will learn about the planet as global warming, we will do some hands on project. Students will have to come up with ides of how to solve real life problems like flooding, icing, weather etc. We will go over different topic each week: Week 1: Water as energy, groundwater - how do we get ground water? Formation of ground water, the Hydrologic cycle Week 2: Floods and water hazards, what causes flooding, how can we prevent flooding Week 3:Ocean, Hurricanes- how they form Week 4: Non-renewable energy and climate change - Fossil Fuels, how we mine them, and use them, the affects on people, Earth and climate Week 5: Re-newable energy- what other energy we can use rather than Fossil fuel to produce electricity? Week 6: we will to a sum up discussion and project on climate change and how to help
Learning Goals
Students will learn important lessons about the Earth, how to protect the planet. How to recycle. My hands on challenges will teach students how to apply critical thinking, innovation and communication to solve problems.

We will work with glue and scissors, parents assistance may be needed

We will use paper, colors, crayons, scissors, wax paper, cotton balls, straws, aluminum foil, construction paper and water
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
