Let's explore rain clouds! In this class, we will watch and discover what causes rain clouds to form in the first place and why they release rain. Then we will become little scientists and create a rain cloud simulation of our own! Students will be introduced to new scientific vocabulary with the use of visual aids and simple definitions. We will end class by drawing and sharing our scientific observations. This course will not only teach students about science, but it will also facilitate their fine motor skills as they make their rain cloud simulation and draw a picture of their observation. This is a great way to make learning fun for them! **if you don't see a time that fits your schedule, please select "Request Another Time," so I can try to accommodate your preference
Learning Goals
Students will learn about: evaporation, precipitation, condensation, observations, and the reason rain clouds form and release rain.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Candice, and I'm so glad you stopped by my page!
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
I have nine years of teaching experience and I have my B.A. in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies. During my eight years of teaching, I have worked with students from Preschool to 12th grade. I am TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certified and have been teaching online for over four years, which has given me the knowledge and experience necessary in providing a quality education online.
I have been homeschooling my 6-year-old daughter for three years with curriculum that I have created as well as supplemental curriculum. I have taken training classes on teaching Montessori, and I keep myself educated and up-to-date with teaching methods and practices by regularly reading published articles, taking monthly professional development courses, and reading through new state teaching standards.
My B.A. in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies, is where I studied the impact families have on children and how children learn as infants through adolescent years and how they carry that into adulthood and into their own families. Such training and knowledge has equipped me with the tools necessary to be the teacher I am today.
WHAT I TEACH:
Teaching the little learners is my passion! I enjoy teaching math, science, language arts, social skills, and everything in between! Little learners are so curious, and they want to emulate adults, so I truly enjoy guiding them in their education as I assist in providing them with the necessary skills to lead our future!
ABOUT ME/FAMILY LIFE:
I reside in the western part of the United States with my husband, and our two children. When I'm not teaching online, I'm immersed in being a mom and homeschool teacher to my children. I have a very intelligent, gentle, and kind-hearted six-year-old daughter, and a happy, active, and adventurous two-year-old son! We do enjoy our time with lots of arts and crafts, building forts, having living room camp-outs, and we enjoy learning many different subjects (history, art, foreign languages, culture, and so much more). Reading together with silly character voices is also one of our favorite activities along with just good old-fashioned outdoor play!
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
I take a hands-on approach in my classes. That's what engages and excites students, and it helps learners to understand concepts best this way.
We can learn a lot from little learners; therefore, you can always expect your child to feel included, valued, and respected in my class. It's my priority to ensure each student has a positive learning experience and has fun while doing so!
I'm super excited to meet your child! It's truly an honor to be part of your child's educational journey. I take my role as an educator very seriously, and I am incredibly passionate about it! I look forward to meeting you in the classroom!
