1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, students will be engaged in a fairy tale story! After the story is read and discussed, students will have the opportunity to put their problem solving to the test! Using craft supplies and items found around the house, we will discuss the engineering process of asking questions to solve a problem, imagining a solution using background knowledge/research, planning our solutions out, creating a model, improving our model, and reflecting on our experiences. We will read the story Rapunzel. Students will become engineers as they help Rapunzel escape from her tower. The students will create her tower out of cardboard tubes and design a way for her to escape down the tower using recyclable materials.
