Class Experience

FSA is thrilled to be working with all of you to create a positive and fun learning environment. This class will be going over STEM concepts to help Future Scholars succeed. In addition, future Scholars will be encouraged to participate in various activities and games in this club. These activities will encompass the weekly theme that will make learning exciting for future scholars to follow along. Future Scholars' Academy's goal for this club is to encourage children to feel free to share their thoughts and answers to gain new skills and obtain new bonds and friendships with their peers.

Week 1: My Five Senses
Learners will gain knowledge of the five senses and
have an opportunity to embrace the world around
them.

Active Engagement:
Introductions, questions of the day, presenting an
object to represent one of their five senses (Fridays),
class presentation, online games, and songs


Week 2: My Universe
This week's goal is to ignite curiosity and spark
imagination. Challenging the students in becoming
creative thinkers by having hands-on opportunities.
In addition, students will learn about the specialties of our home planet and how vital our universe is.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, questions of the day, presenting
their Rocket project (Friday), Class presentation,
online games.


Week 3: Animal Kingdom
Students will have the opportunity to dive into the
world of animals and explore how they live.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, presentation, online games, music
a movement, and presenting animal drawings
(Friday).


Week 4: Count and Add 
Learners will gain an understanding of place value
from numbers 0-20. Students will be able to use
objects and materials to represent the concepts of
addition.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, presentation, Addition Board
Activity, online games, songs, and favorite number
presentation (Friday).


Week 5: Measurement Exploration 
This week allows active learning for students to be
hands-on. Students will be able to measure and
explore objects around them. They will be given
opportunities to compare and contrast things by
size.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, Presentation, Measurement
Exploration, Online games, presentations comparing
shoe sizes graph (Friday).


Week 6: Time (Days, Weeks, Months, Years, Seasons)
The days of the week are an essential measure of
time for children to understand. This is the basis for
them to record the time or a schedule.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, Presentation, What to Wear Activity,
Online Games, Songs, and Your favorite Season
Presentation (Friday).


Week 7: The Life Cycle 
Students will identify the following stages
of a plant or animal's cycle. Then, they can compare what
they learn to what they see daily.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, Presentation, Online Games, Short
Video, Songs, and Presentations of life cycle
drawings (Friday).


Week 8: Weather 
Students will be able to describe various types of
weather and apply it to their daily lives.

Active Engagement:
Class Welcome, Presentation, Rain Cloud
Experiment, Rainbow Experiment, Online Games, and Songs

Supply List
Future Scholars will need paper and any type of writing utensil. At times they may be asked to follow along with some teacher demonstrations.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

My name is Mrs. Hall. I have been teaching for six years at a Montessori School. Some of my favorite things to do are ballet and sewing. My first time teaching was when I became an assistant teacher at my dance school. There I instantly fell in love with teaching and decided to pursue a career in education. I am an Alumni and received my degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently pursuing my degree in Psychology and Education from Pre-k to the sixth grade.
