Description
Class Experience
Children will understand more about pollution and its' effect on marine life, and the importance of caring for our oceans.
I have taught elementary science for over 20 years in a brick and mortar school. My Bachelor's Degree is in elementary education with a minor in general science. I created & taught a STEAM based curriculum that was used in a summer day camp for four summers which was packed full of meaningful and FUN science experiments, engineering challenges and art projects.
Supplies needed: *A waterproof tub filled with halfway with water. ( You may add a few drops of blue food coloring , if you'd like) * A few rocks , toy boat and plastic animals to give it a real ocean feel would be nice , but not necessary. * Plastic spoons, cotton balls, sponge , etc..for the clean up process * 1/4 cup of vegetable oil and a tsp of cocoa *Optional: feather and fabric animal fur & Dawn Dish Soap
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Young children may need help setting up their supplies.
