Class Experience

Can't get enough of slime or just want to learn how to make it? We will make four different types of slime during our STEM Summer Camp- Slime Science! We will make butter slime, cloud slime, crunchy floam slime, and fluffy slime. We will learn about the science of slime, use observations, and scientific thinking in our class. We will meet for 4 classes making this class only $12 per class. This is a beginner class, so no slime making experience is necessary. You will need to purchase the ingredients, so plan ahead. Once you sign up for the class, you will receive the ingredient list. It will include slime basic ingredients like glue, slime activator, food color, ziplock bags, and more.

Types of slime we will create in this class:
• Butter Slime
• Oobleck
• Cloud Slime
• Crunchy Floam Slime
• Glitter Slime
• Fluffy Slime

We may also have time for a chemical reaction brew too!

Learning Goals

Students will learn the science of slime. We will learn about non-Newtonian fluids, chemistry, physics, solids, liquids, gases, and scientific vocabulary. We will observe slime viscosity, polymers, and shear thickening. We will will also compare and contrast our slime recipes, as well as learn how to troubleshoot slime failures.
