Electric Cars are all over the news today. It seems every day is a new technology or a new debate. This course dives into the foundations of the technology. How do these vehicles work, how do they differ from ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). What do all the differences between manufacturers mean?

This is a live class with lecture, whiteboarding, occasional video animations, and plenty of Q&A discussion. You can participate to the level that you feel comfortable!

Each week we will tackle new concepts and go deep into understanding the technology that makes these cars work, and how it differs from traditional ICE engines. Questions are welcome as is sharing of what your family has.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been involved in auto mechanics for a lifetime, starting as a diesel pump mechanic during teen years! I have modified cars, repaired and maintained them, keeping autos running for over a quarter million miles in some cases. In addition, I am an electronic engineer, familiar with electricity, motors, and the mechanical science that goes into vehicles. This course combines all those years of expertise and experience into this new field of electric vehicles.
