Let's build a real artificial intelligence brain simulation on your own computer and explore! Neurons and neural networks are the basis of Artificial intelligence, in this class we explore what a computer simulated neuron really is by building some! With a easy to use graphical software (free) you will be able to build neurons and connect them into a simple brain to perform tasks, in the process truly gaining an understanding how how the brain, and AI works. Class progression through the...
Understand computer simulations of a brain, especially the low level neurons and synapses.
I have been working in the AI space since the last 1990s and watched the technology grow and mature. I have built several different projects utilizing this technology throughout that time. Now, at retirement from the high tech space, my desire tis to bring a true understanding to the next generation of how we got where we are.
Each week the learner will have projects to work on in their own time on their own computer.
You will need the following to do this class: 1. A suitable computer to run java applications (not a chromebook or tablet) 2. Java runtime engine installed 3. Download and install the software "Simbrain" (runs on Windows, MAC, or Linux) https://simbrain.net/
