US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
This is an ongoing, play-based STEAM class. Students will gain key science knowledge through creating plants, animals, insects, and other objects from nature out of clay or modeling dough. While enjoying the creative process, the students will meet lesson objectives though song, poetry, and games. The class will conclude with a sharing time where the students can display their modeling dough or clay creations and share what they learned about each amazing STEAM encounter! Week of 3/17: Food...
1. The students will be able to create an object from nature from modeling dough or clay. 2. The students will be able to name key characteristics of this object. 3. The students will be able to participate in group activities to deepen their understanding of each lesson topic. 4. The students will be able to evaluate what they like about their individual projects.

1. Modeling dough or clay in a variety of colors 2. A piece of cardboard, cookie sheet, or other hard, flat object that can be used as a tray on which to create each project 3. Pipe cleaners or toothpicks to be used for joints and legs in various projects *I will post a class message if there are additional items needed for any of the lessons.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents, please be advised that students may need assistance with using scissors to cut pieces of pipe cleaner or toothpicks to make joints and/or legs for several of the projects.
