Class Experience
In this one time class (30 minutes), students will learn about the properties of solids, liquids, gases, plasmas, and colloids through a presentation, real life examples, and group discussions. Students will be encouraged to think of examples of each type of matter. They will play a game where they must work together to sort items into the correct categories (solids, liquids, or gases.) We will then enjoy a "crazy colloid" science experiment. No prior knowledge is required in order to...
Students will be able to identify and sort different states of matter.
I am a certified early childhood and elementary education teacher. I taught science for 5 years.
Bowl Corn starch Water Spoon Paper towels (it can get a bit messy!) Paper and a pencil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed based on participation.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
