Kid entrepreneurs are everywhere! Most kids I know have had the thought, "Hmmmm...how can I make some money?" After the fire is lit and the plan is done, what next? In this class, we'll explore two case studies for kids to operate a business--selling a good and selling a service. We'll briefly look at the Business Plans for two imaginary businesses, then we'll walk through the process of actually implementing the business ideas. Students will understand the basics of thinking through implementing a Business Plan. Students will also gain confidence in their ability to start and manage a simple business on their own, with support from a parent or adult mentor.
In addition to my full time work as a business manager for a large construction project, I've started a few side businesses over the past several years. I currently help my adolescent daughter manage a profitable glass bead jewelry business. My Masters Degree in Management focused on Entrepreneurship.
There is no homework, but a handout will be provided prior to the class.
Ideas and passion are all that are needed for this class. Oh, and maybe a notebook to jot down new ideas. Students will be supplied with a handout prior to the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
