There are many benefits to volunteering- physical and mental! Furthermore, studies show that people that start volunteering when they are young are more likely to volunteer later in life. In this class, I will introduce students to those benefits of volunteering and the excitement of choosing and finding a volunteer position that they can do online, from home, like graphic design, making care packages, and much more! I have been volunteering all my life, but found out I could do much more by volunteering online, which I started around 2000. In the past 20 years or so, I have volunteered online around the world as a web developer, researcher, consultant, and more- all online from home or another remote location. I have also done a great deal of research on the benefits of volunteering and the use of technology to make volunteerism easier for the volunteer and non profit organization in need.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
