Class Experience
It's improv time! Play improv games in an interactive and fun way. Can you keep up with the Zip Zap Zop? What will you do with the Bippity Bop? Is there such a thing as a Clip Clap Clop? There is if we say there is - this is improv! A fun, energy-filled improv skills class full of group games, making things up on the spot, comedic characters and silly scenes. Students will learn and practice both new and classic improv games. These games develop skills including being open to new ideas, listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, confidence, teamwork, trusting each other and resilience. The improv games learned will be suited to the specific group depending on previous experience and personal interest.
I am an improviser and actor who has been working professionally for 20 years. Originally from Australia, I started and ran an improv comedy group in Melbourne (which is still going and has just hit the 10 year mark!) and since moving to LA I've gotten experience at Groundlings, The Second City and am a proud member of Comedysportz. I love improv and I love teaching it, I honestly think the skills it has taught me have made my life better. Plus it's so much fun! And accessible for a wide range of ages and people.
No homework assigned.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
