Description
Class Experience
The student will... • develop skills in tone, timing, and articulation while learning tunes; • learn the stories behind the songs; • learn to play songs in differing key signatures, time signatures, tempos, and styles. Tunes include but are not limited to: • My Country Tis of Thee • America, the Beautiful • Yankee Doodle • The Stars and Stripes Forever • American Service songs
Practice music between sessions as is necessary to be able to play the music with the class the next day.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Observation of progress in performance of music, attentiveness, and evidence of outside preparation for sessions.
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
