In this one-time class, we will create a sunset landscape while incorporating the style of Van Gogh's Starry Night!
Class experience
Students will learn a variety of painting techniques with watercolors and acrylics as they create a sunset landscape. Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" will be referenced as we create movement in the sky above an ocean. We will discuss and discover how to draw/paint the areas of our paper in sections such as the foreground, middle-ground, and background. This class will be taught through guided-demonstrations: where students will observe as the teacher completes a step(s) and then students...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how to manipulate watercolors and acrylic paints. Students will understand and apply how to break down landscape paintings using the concepts of: foreground, middle-ground, and background.
-Watercolor Paper (size: 9x12) -Watercolor Paints -Brushes: -Flat (a brush to help cover space, the larger in size= easier to use) -A Small-sized Round End (Ideally, the smallest brush you have!) -*Optional* Angle (This helps with painting straight lines) -Acrylic Paint (Black, White, Blue, Yellow) -Paper Plate (to mix paint on) -Paper Towels -Water Cup w/water
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
