Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I love having fun and bringing creativity to the classroom! I teach art, crafts, cooking, academic classes including language arts, math, reading, and I am always adding more creative classes to my classroom! I love to make the classes fun and exciting for the students and keep them engaged in the lesson so that they can learn while having fun. I keep younger students engaged by using props, music, and interaction to keep their interest. I love working with older students as well and relating to them.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a minor in graphic design from San Jose State University. After working as a graphic designer, I have had the opportunity to work with students in grades kindergarten through high school through substitute teaching, teaching English to students in China, and homeschooling my own children for 10 years.
When something is fun or enjoyable, we are more likely to learn from it and stick with it. That is why I try to incorporate fun and creativity into each lesson. I strive to engage the students, so that they want to keep coming back and learning.
My husband and I have 4 children, a dog named Scout, and two sweet guinea pigs. I enjoy going to Disneyland with my family, hanging out together by the pool, and dancing in the kitchen :)
I hope you child will join me in the classroom. Together we will make learning fun!
