Class Experience

Begin your adventure into the Star Wars Universe!

In this 4 week campaign new heroes will start their heroic career and have the chance to join the Rebellion against the Empire. We will use a set of Role Playing Game rules based on Dungeons & Dragons to encounter the Star Wars Universe!

Session 1: We will begin by creating Star Wars characters using a modified version of Dungeons & Dragons rules. Then the adventure will begin! The heroes are hired by a group of nomads to defend them against a band of ruthless scavengers. The nomads have discovered a crashed Rebel ship that has something valuable aboard. However, word has gotten out about the valuable cargo, and the scavengers mean to get it, by any means necessary! Can our heroes defend the nomads and the Rebellion ship wreckage?

Sesson 2 & 3: The heroes have defended the nomads against the vile scavenges. However, the nomads feel that the scavengers will return and in greater numbers. Should the nomads stay and find the valuable cargo or should they leave in hopes of protecting themselves? Can the heroes find the valuable cargo? Where is this "secret vault" mentioned in the captain's log?

Session 4: The heroes realize that the cargo would be very beneficial to the Rebellion, but how will they get it to them? The heroes must find a way off the planet while avoiding the scavengers that are looking for revenge. Once off the planet, it's smooth sailing! Until they are caught in the tractor beam of a Star Destroyer!

Session 5 & 6: In a routine sweep of the system, the Empire has brought all small vessels aboard to make sure they are not Rebels or Rebel spies. The heroes must wait while the Imperials scan their ship. How will the heroes escape from the Storm troopers before they find the valuable cargo?

Session 6: The heroes make it to Dantooine, where they think they can find agents of the Rebellion. They find a few individuals who are all interested in the treasure, and they all claim to be from the Rebellion? But which of the individuals can they trust?

Session 7 & 8: Our heroes have made contact with the Rebellion, and they are interested in the valuable things. But the Rebellion is always wary of Imperial spies trying to infiltrate their ranks. The Rebels are willing to meet with the heroes, but require a test to see where their loyalties lie. There's a Rebel operative that is being held in a small Imperial detention area. If the heroes can free him and return him to the Rebels, they will be more inclined to deal with our heroes.

This will be an exciting adventure to introduce the characters to the Star Wars Universe. The students will need to work together to help their allies, fight off villains, and help the Rebellion. During the adventure students will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills in team work, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, leadership, and verbal expression. The heroes' actions will have consequences, and their decisions may alter how the game progresses. Students will also extend upon their knowledge of math and reading.

All learners will need some way to roll dice. They can use RPG dice, a die rolling website, or a die rolling app.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

    Hi, I'm Ed!

I'm so happy to be teaching on Outschool!

I'm a professional puppeteer, a gamer, and a home school dad!

During my career as a puppeteer I've performed with the Muppets, the Jim Henson Company, and Sesame Street among others. I've been a puppeteer on feature films, tv shows, and videos throughout my 30+ year career. I have toured internationally with Walking with Dinosaurs-the Arena Spectacular for the past 11 years. Currently I own a company that tours throughout the Southeast.

As a home school dad I helped teach my son his entire school career.

I'm a huge fan of games, especially role-playing games! Playing a role playing game can improve skills like math, reading, comprehension, team work, and creative problem solving.

Students learn better when they are in an environment where they want to learn. Using puppetry and games, I've been able to educate students of all ages on a variety of topics. In fact, puppetry and games can be used to teach any subject under the sun!
