What's included

1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1 hour per week. Students are expected to watch the weekly Bad Batch episode so they can discuss it in class without fear of spoiling the episode for other students.

Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
This is a place for fans of the Star Wars TV show The Bad Batch Season 2 to come discuss the week's previous episodes. Classroom discussions will vary depending on the students' response to the episodes each week, but will focus solely on The Bad Batch episodes, story lines, and possible theories about what the students saw.

This is a discussion-style classroom. Students are encouraged to share their thoughts and insights about The Bad Batch each week. Students should watch the previous episode on their own time and come to class prepared to discuss the new episode. This is an ongoing class that will last as long as The Bad Batch airs new episodes. Session topics will be learner-directed and dictated by the weekly episodes students have watched:

Week 1: Episode Week 1
Week 2: Episode Week 2
Week 3: Episode Week 3
Week 4: Episode Week 4 (etc).

The first episode airs on Disney+ Wednesday, January 4, 2023 and should last between 30-60 minutes. Currently, the number of episodes for The Bad Batch season has not been released, but Season One lasted 16 weeks.

Students may join the discussion group at any time (even after The Bad Batch season airs) and may leave at any time if there is a schedule conflict or they are no longer able to keep watching the episodes. The discussion will cover spoilers as students are expected to have previously watched each episode. However, if a student is not able to watch an episode in time, they can cancel their weekly subscription and rejoin class when they have caught up. Outschool charges credit cards on file every Sunday. If you would cancel your subscription before Sunday, you will not be charged for the following week.
Learning Goals
Students will take what they have seen in a television program and learn to share their thoughts and ideas in a coherent discussion that will most likely include a healthy amount of debate and difference of opinions.

While earning my Master's Degree in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults, I had endless discussions with my screenplay writer friends about the Star Wars Universe. I have also led a weekly Star Wars discussion group on Outschool for over three years. Star Wars is so complex and ever growing that it seems impossible to know it all! Because the Star Wars galaxy (and particularly, the Clone Wars) is full of hints and questions, the episodes and characters make great conversation! It is also nice to find other people (and potential friends) who share a love for Star Wars, The Clone Wars, and The Bad Batch.
