Star Constellations in Our Universe!
Class experience
US Grade 2 - 5
What do stars get for a 2nd place finish? ***a CONSTELLATION prize*** 😁 The solar system is one of my favorite things to talk about, especially with children! I have found the enthusiasm with this subject to be contagious, and nothing thrills me more than a student that gets excited about outer space. No matter how old I get, I still love discovering new things about it. Luckily for all of us, there seems to be a brand new discovery or event every single day! In this class, we will discuss...
My main goal as a teacher is always to launch a lifetime of space exploration and curiosity for my students, and inspire an enthusiasm in them to learn more about what exists beyond Earth. In this class, students will explore several constellations and the mythologies that bring them to life. They will use their individual imaginations to describe their own unique views of them, as well as discover other dazzling celestial objects in our universe. We have quite a few stunning photos to observe and discuss also. My favorite part about this class is getting to hear what the students come up with and how they view these "shapes" in the sky. I want to motivate an excitement for space, and even the possibility of becoming an astronomer one day! Blast off on this space adventure with me!!
I have 12 years experience as a science teacher, with a focus on space studies. I love outer space, and no matter how old I get, I still enjoy discovering new things about it. Space exploration is one of the most fascinating topics to me, and I have found the enthusiasm with this subject is contagious!

No outside sources will be used in the class meeting. I will send a couple optional, related YouTube videos after class if the student is interested in watching them. Also, solarsystem.nasa.gov is a fantastic website that covers all things space related, if the student ever wants to explore further.
