This One-Time Musical Theatre class is aimed at children who would like to practice their Musical Theatre skills through the use of Drama Games/Vocal Exercises and Dance/Performance skills. It is suitable for both beginners and those with a little experience aged 8-11 Years. This class may be repeated - different skills/performance pieces will be studied each time if there are repeat learners. Class Breakdown Example:- Introduction Warm Up/Acting Game - Movement/Drama Game E.g. Body Part Camera, Presents (Emotions), Imaginary Props, GIF's., Starting Lines Improv. Vocal Warm Up Exercises - Breathing/Speech/Tongue Twisters A Short Dance/Performance Piece from Musical Theatre Cooldown/Acting Exit Teaching Style:- I have a positive approach to teaching. I like to praise and encourage. When I'm explaining the tasks I may keep the students muted so they are able to hear me clearly or if there is a background noise I may ask the students to keep themselves muted when it is not their turn. The pace of the class will reflect the children in the class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice a variety of Musical Theatre skills through the use of Drama/Acting Games, Vocal Exercises and a Short Dance/Performance Piece. This class should also help the Learner gain confidence as well as having fun.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parts of the class will involve acting/moving/dancing in their own space. Please ensure children have enough space to move around and remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!).

I have been teaching Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre for 25 years. I achieved my B.A.(Hons) Drama/Theatre & Music from the University of London (Royal Holloway). I am also a qualified professional dance teacher with the NCDTA and IDTA (U.K.) I have taught all ages from young to adult; also training other teachers. I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA. I have directed many youth Musical Theatre productions including High School Musical, Grease, The Little Mermaid, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and The Beast, The Wizard of Oz and Hairspray. Several of my former pupils are now Professional Performers working around the world including in London's West End and on Cruise Ships. I have also entered many children for both 'Speech and Drama' and 'Musical Theatre' examinations, consistently gaining high results.
