Basic Dance Makeup will be applied by the student themselves to their own faces. This instruction will be done in real time while the teacher demonstrates on her own face and then instructs the student step by step. The techniques used will be relevant for both stage and competition dance performances. The student must have the following cosmetics at their disposal before class begins and in front of them. Foundation-2 shades darker than skin tone Powder-translucent Pink blush Red lip liner Red lipstick Black eyeliner Eye shadow palette with dark and light shades (browns preferred) Brushes-Blush, Powder, Shadow, Crease Optional-Setting Spray, Eyebrow pencil or gel A Mirror and Good lighting are helpful.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to apply stage makeup to themselves. This is just one lesson and should be repeated at the students leisure for the sake of getting consistent and steady with their hands for accurate application. This should promote independence for the budding artist, a sense of responsibility as well as developed confidence.
