Description

Class Experience

This is a preschool music and story time class in a print rich and prop filled environment. We will start with a welcome where I'll give each student a chance to share with the class their St Patrick's Day or Pete the Cat clothing, toy, or book. I'll show them their Pete the Cat name card, and practice the first letter and sound in their name. Next we will sing a 'hello' song together. I'll sing a phrase first, and the students will echo. Then we will check in with our emotions and feelings,...

This class will strengthen social/emotional development, reading comprehension skills, coordination and large motor development. It will increase creativity and imagination and allow for self-expression. Music and reading improve and enhance language development and school readiness.

Class is taught by a caring, experienced preschool music and theater educator. With a bachelor's degree in theater and vocal performance and over 25 years as a professional singer, actress, director and teacher, I bring high energy, fun and confidence to every class I teach, and take great care to attend to and acknowledge each child as a unique and valued individual.

No materials are required, but students may choose to bring or wear a St Patrick's Day or Pete the Cat related toy or object to class for show & tell.

35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
