We all want our children to read fluently with speed and accuracy. Mastering sight words helps students read high-frequency words as soon as they see them! This automaticity means their brains can go straight to reading comprehension without the step of sounding out the words first. Playing BINGO is a fun way to practice sight words with peers. I have a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and taught in primary (1st-3rd grade) classrooms for six years. I have an ESL endorsement and have more than three years of experience teaching online classes for kids.
- Two sight word BINGO cards (the teacher will send via Outschool message the night before class for families to print) - Non-permanent BINGO word covers of your choice (cereal, Legos, goldfish, etc.)
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
