Let's have some St. Patrick's day fun math style. In this class we will be exploring different math concepts such as addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, graphing, fractions, probability, and even/odd numbers, and money. This class will be learner directed. As a group students can choose any of the following games to play. ~ Kahoot ~ Chutes/ladders (St. Patrick themed) ~ Bingo ~ Leprechaun Luck Game (where students will roll the dice, add their numbers, and see who can fill the card the fastest) ~ Leprechaun Monopoly (this is a small version of the big game) * With each game there are a bank of questions/worksheets that go with them . If there are concepts that the students want more practice with I can use more of those questions. Class Structure and Teaching: ~ At the start of class I will take attendance and we will decide as a group which game to play. - Class Rules ~ Be respectful to other classmates ~ Pay attention and don't interrupt classmates. ~ When collaborating with a classmate while someone is speaking use the chat feature in zoom. ~ Students will volunteer to give an answer to a square of their choosing. If the same people are answering and volunteering all the time I will call on a student to give their opinion and thoughts to help other students. If they don't know I will help them and work with them to answer the question so they don't feel embarrassed. This class is meant to be fun and stimulating to the mind.
Learning Goals
Students will work on and practice different math concepts.
