Class Experience

Want to learn a fun St. Patrick's Day-themed makeup look? Let’s hang out, do our makeup, and chat!

In this class, you'll be guided with step-by-step directions on how to make a fun makeup look with green, gold and other colored makeup. If you don't have those colors, you'll still be able to follow along with whichever color(s) you have available! As we're going through the different steps, learners will answer questions about their favorite makeup, learn different techniques, and more! This class will give makeup lovers a chance to try out a new look in a relaxing, comfortable environment.

Skin care/prep: Learners should come to class with a clean, makeup-free face.

A list of recommended makeup is provided under the learner supply list and on the discussion board, but learners can decide which makeup they want to use depending on what they have and would prefer to use. During the class, learners can add their own twist or spin to make the look unique to their preferences.

I am passionate about makeup as a means of self-expression and as an art form. My goal is to guide learners to find the techniques, products, and looks that make them feel happy and confident!

Hello! My name is Ivana and I have over 9 years of experience teaching in a variety of settings, including in the classroom, online, and private tutoring. I've taught over 4,500 online lessons and enjoy working with learners of all ages to help them feel comfortable and confident in learning virtually!

I enjoy creating creative lessons related to Spanish language and culture and drawing from my Colombian heritage. I also specialize in working with ESL students to strengthen their vocabulary, fluency, and confidence in speaking English.

For younger students, I use singing, art, and movement to provide engaging instruction on a variety of subjects, including Spanish and ESL. With older learners, my goals are to encourage them to think carefully, be curious, and find their unique voice and talents in a variety of subjects.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and my MSEd in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Starting in 2013, I taught Middle School Spanish for 2 years through Teach For America and then worked as a Home and Hospital teacher for all school subjects for several years. During the summer of 2016, I was a TA for 2 summer sessions of Cognitive Psychology with the Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY). Finally, I've taught online ESL lessons with 2 online ESL companies to students ranging from 3-16 years old for the past 4 years and formally mentor prospective online teachers on best practices for online ESL instruction.
