Are you ready to join the Squishmallow Drawing Crew??? This is an awesome group that meets once a week to draw one fun squishmallow! At the beginning of class, I will introduce a new squishmallow squad (group of squishmallows), and the students will get to vote on which one we draw for the day. To vote, the learners will give me a thumbs up, and I will tally all the votes for each squishmallow. Then we will get to work drawing the winner! I will give a full tutorial on how to draw and color the selected squishmallow, but students are encouraged to get creative with their drawings and add their own fun spin on them. I will mute the class during drawing time so that background noise isn't a problem and everyone can easily hear the instructions. During the coloring time, kids can unmute and talk all about their drawing and squishmallow collections. For this group, students need crayons, paper, a pencil, and a black marker. Students will be encouraged to share their drawings with the class at the end of classtime. Students are also encouraged to bring squishmallows to class. If there is time at the end of class, we will take a look at the squishmallows everyone brought for a mini squishmallow party. Squishmallows will be drawn from the squads below based on learner choices from those squads. Once a month, I will have a "Bring A Squishmallow to Draw Day." Instead of picking a squishmallow from a squad, we will draw one of the learner's squishmallows during class time. The class will get to vote on which one they want to draw. Hello! I'm Briann. Welcome to my classroom page! I hope you find something here you like. I started my journey Outschool teaching social classes. But if you look at my class listing offerings, you'll notice that I have expanded from that. I now offer three different types of classes.
Live Group Classes:
All of my live group classes are social classes. Each class offers breakout rooms so kids can get into small groups and build an online community of friends their own age. These classes are offered in the afternoons and work great as a recess break for homeschoolers or kids who just want extra time to talk and hang out in the summer. You can check out the various class themes below.
Self-Paced Classes:
The second type of classes I offer are self-paced extracurricular or problem-solving classes. You can find these in the self-paced tab below. These are niche classes that address particular topics, like how drugs and alcohol affect your brain or how to do long division. So, if your learner wants to know about something specific or is struggling with a particular concept of math, then take a look at these classes.
Groups
I offer several interesting groups that kids can sign up for. The groups are a mix of social and educational experiences and are paid for via monthly subscription. Groups don't have live meetings; instead, they are like private Reddit pages for kids! Kids can make posts, talk with others in the group via post chats, and even upload photos and videos. My most popular group so far has been my minecraft Java group that gives your learner access to the group board and a private Java server to build and explore.
