In this beginner-friendly SQL course, students will learn the foundations of SQL programming through hands-on practice and real-world examples. We'll cover essential topics including schemas, data types, joins, filters, data analysis, aggregation, window functions, sub queries, and database management. By the end of the course, students will be able to write simple SQL scripts. The class is structured in a progressive, modular format. Each session builds on the last, starting with basic syntax and working toward small projects that tie all the concepts together. You’ll have the chance to immediately apply what you learn through live coding exercises, short quizzes, and practical mini-projects.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I’m a data scientist and educator with a strong foundation in both applied statistics and real-world data analysis. I hold a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and have over 8 years of experience applying statistical techniques in business, healthcare, and tech settings. My daily work involves building dashboards, analyzing patterns, running A/B tests, and explaining data-driven decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
I have taught introductory statistics and data skills to a wide range of learners, from high school students to adult professionals, both online and in live classroom environments. Most recently, I’ve taught statistics and data literacy as part of a coding bootcamp, where I helped beginners grasp essential concepts using real-world data, Python, SQL, Excel, and visualization tools like Tableau.
In addition to my technical teaching, I have experience working with youth and young adults in mentoring and tutoring roles. I’ve volunteered as a math tutor in after-school programs and have worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them build confidence in STEM subjects. I prioritize making my teaching clear, engaging, and supportive—especially for those who might feel intimidated by math or statistics.
I believe in creating an inclusive and collaborative learning environment where every student feels heard, challenged, and empowered.
