***Please see the supply list for this class. We will begin with introductions and a brief review of nouns. I will introduce adjectives and explain how they are used to describe nouns. Next, we will play a quick adjective/ noun matching game. We will use pictures to understand how to identify nouns that need an adjective. After that, we will use our "Adjective Sorter" page to brainstorm and categorize lists of adjectives that students will record on their own sheets. Students will learn to...
Students will learn what adjectives are how to use them to improve their writing. Students will learn that adjectives provide details that make sentences more interesting and more colorful. Students will learn how to use more than one adjective in a sentence.
There is no required homework. Optional: Students can color the cupcake worksheet to reinforce the idea of how adjectives provide detail and color to plain sentences. Students can also continue to write sentences using adjectives created in the lesson. * *Students can revisit and complete any of the worksheets we began together in class, or that they may not have finished.

(Student may have time to color some of their work in class. Otherwise, they may color after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will create sentences to demonstrate understanding of adjective use.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There are 4 worksheets that will be used for this lesson. These should be printed out from the class page ahead of time and used during class.
