Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
I taught kindergarten for many years and have been teaching online for the past year. Through trial and error, I've found ways to try and make online learning fun and engaging.
I will send supplemental papers for your learner to use to practice what we'll be working on in class. These are optional for homework, but I will allow some time at the beginning of the week for students to share their work with each other. Optional homework: Supplemental word families worksheets. Writing a simple sentence with the week’s new sight word.
Students will need: Paper Pencil Vowel Cards* *I will send a printable sheet to make vowel cards, however, these can be easily made with index cards or sticky notes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be assessed informally during our class time together. I try to send personalized notes at the end of each week to inform parents about learners progress - written to the learner.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please note that this course is intended for learners that already know their letters and letter sounds.
