This class is taught in English.

Students will gain self-confidence, and foster a love of nature and photography. They will also learn composition and lighting techniques found in nature. Students will also learn new photography vocabulary words while also practicing their presentation skills.

Before the first class, spend time in nature. Notice and observe the lighting of the subject you want to photograph.  Notice the coming of a new season like melting snow, changing leaves, or growing flowers.  

Each class will have a photo project given after the lesson.  Your main light source is the sun!  Do not use flash. Photograph the textures, shadows, and landscapes of your surroundings.  Take your time and try to visit different outdoor locations if possible.  You can photograph as many images as you like.  Go through your collection with a parent and choose your favorites.  You will bring your photos to class and talk about them!  Printing them out as a 5x7 or 8x10 is best but you can also use the "share screen" feature in Zoom to share you images digitally. Please try and avoid holding another screen up to the webcam, for it is difficult to see details in the photograph. 

2 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
